College kid.
My son arrived back at my place yesterday after a few very long road trips. He left school in Boulder, Colorado when the virus hit…I guess we could almost call him a college refugee. Have to throw in some humor whenever possible. Today I took him on a walk through my forest and we had a good chat about life and the coming days, although in reality it’s somewhat impossible to talk about the future because we have no idea how things will look. I feel so deeply for our young people, particularly high school seniors and college kids, who must feel like their lives have been snatched away from them. And now we are seeing protests from people who want the government and everything else reopened. The answers will come and things will shift, to be sure. In the meantime, I’m grateful for trees, for sunlight, and for a kid who is making the best of this unpredictable and unprecedented era.
